Automation Routines let you schedule any Tato prompt to run automatically and deliver the output directly to your chat — no manual trigger needed.

Creating a Routine

Navigate to Routines from the sidebar, or cmd/ctrl+k → "routines" Click New Routine to open the routine editor. Three things to configure:

Trigger — when it runs

• Pick a date and time for the routine to execute.
• Supports recurring schedules (e.g. every Monday at 9 AM).

Instructions — what it does

• Write any prompt you'd normally type in chat.
• Call Skills, reference projects, ask for summaries, pull priorities — same capabilities as a regular chat message.

Destination — where the output goes

• Results are delivered to Tato Chat, just like a regular chat response.

Scheduled and past automations

The Automations page gives you a full view of your automation setup:

• Active routines — all routines currently scheduled to run.
• Run history — a log of past executions with their outputs.

Homepage Widget

The home page shows a snapshot of your automation activity:

• The last routine that ran and its output.
• Your next upcoming routines so you always know what's coming.

What's next?

We're expanding Automation Routines with more trigger types (calendar events, meeting completions) and additional output destinations (Teams channels). If you have ideas or want to brainstorm automations for your team, reach out — we'd love to help.
